Minh Dan Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company Invests in a Freeze-Dried Cancer Injection Production Line – A New Milestone in the High-Tech Pharmaceutical Development Strategy

As part of its development strategy for the 2026–2030 period, Minh Dan Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company continues to invest in expanding its production capacity through the adoption of modern technology. The project to establish a production line for freeze-dried cancer injections is a key initiative, marking a significant step forward in enhancing the company's ability to manufacture sterile dosage forms that require advanced technical capabilities.

  1. Context and Practical Needs

Statistics on cancer in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and several other provinces indicate that the country records approximately 150,000 new cancer cases and 75,000 cancer-related deaths annually. Cancer is on the rise in Vietnam and has become the leading cause of death among non-communicable diseases. Despite significant advancements in the domestic pharmaceutical industry in recent years, the supply of many cancer medications—particularly high-tech lyophilized (freeze-dried) injectables—remains heavily reliant on imports. This situation not only drives up treatment costs but also poses challenges regarding drug accessibility during market fluctuations or supply chain disruptions.

   2.Minh Dan's Investment Strategy

In response to the growing demand for high-quality cancer medications, Minh Dan Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company has identified the investment in a freeze-dried injectable production line as a key project within its 2026–2030 development strategy. This project marks a significant transformation for the company as it invests in advanced aseptic manufacturing technologies, aiming to master the production processes for drugs with demanding technical specifications.

The implementation of this project not only enhances the company's pharmaceutical research and manufacturing capabilities but also reaffirms Minh Dan’s commitment to delivering high-quality products, thereby helping to meet domestic treatment needs and elevate the standing of the Vietnamese pharmaceutical industry.

3. Modern Equipment and Technology Systems
To realize this objective, Minh Dan is making comprehensive investments in facilities—including workshops and cleanrooms—and advanced technological equipment specifically designed for the freeze-dried injectable production line. The entire line is engineered to meet current GMP standards, featuring rigorous controls across every stage: from the production environment, raw materials, and formulation to filling, freeze-drying, quality testing, and final packaging.

Isolator systems used in injectable drug manufacturing

Isolator systems create a closed, sterile environment, minimizing the risk of cross-contamination and ensuring safety during the production of lyophilized injectable drugs for cancer treatment.

4.Enhancing Research Capabilities and Technological Mastery

In addition to investing in facilities, the company focuses on building a highly qualified research and technical team and strengthening partnerships with domestic and international collaborators to gain access to advanced formulation technologies. This serves as a crucial foundation for Minh Dan to gradually master the technology for manufacturing freeze-dried injectable cancer medications, aiming to develop high-quality, safe, and effective products that meet the rigorous standards of regulatory authorities.

The High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) system is used for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of active ingredients and impurities, contributing to product quality control in accordance with established standards.

The gas chromatography (GC) system supports the monitoring of residual solvents and other quality parameters, helping to ensure product safety before market release

5.Looking to the Future

Investing in a production line for lyophilized (freeze-dried) cancer treatment injectables represents not only an advancement in manufacturing capacity but also Minh Dan’s long-term commitment to mastering technology, elevating the quality of Vietnamese pharmaceuticals, and providing patients with high-quality, cost-effective treatment solutions.

Minh Dan will continue to provide updates on the project's progress in future articles.
